He joined the United States Army in 1956 and was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas. Kenneth was united in marriage to Patricia Leah Shaull on September 26, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church in Marengo. Kenneth farmed with his father and brother, Richard for many years. He later began farming with his son, Todd. He also worked at the Homestead Implement for many years selling machinery. Kenneth was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Homestead where he served on the church council. He was also a school board member at the Lutheran Interparish School. Kenneth loved farming and never considered it a job, but more of a way of life. He also enjoyed his time in the south each winter with Patricia and spending time with his family and friends. Kenneth died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 89 years.
He is survived by two sons, Mark (Irene) Hagen of Laveen, Arizona and Todd (Wendy) Hagen of Homestead; four grandsons, Shawn (Laura) Hagen, Gabe (Jesse) Hagen, Taylor (Hannah) Hagen and Tanner (fiancée Karley) Hagen; three great-grandchildren, Theo Hagen, Mazie Hagen and Millie Hagen and a sister, Doris Heitman of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia in 2018, a son Brett Hagen, brother Richard (Lillian) Hagen and a brother-in-law Milford Heitman.
