Kenneth LeRoy Pratt of Cedar Rapids passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, at the age of 88.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Jordan's Grove Cemetery in rural Central City.
He was born on April 30, 1930, to Burleigh and Della Barrett Pratt near Waubeek, Iowa. He was a graduate of Central City High School. He worked at Cryovac for 34 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, where he served in various areas.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen Starks Pratt; sons, Stephen (Darlene) Pratt of Bloomington, Ind., and David (Carolyn) of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren, David Jon (Casey) Pratt, Amy (Cory) Kirkland, Brian Pratt (Amy C. Pratt), Aaron (Whitney) Pratt, Abby (Jacob) Tolar and Nathan (Sierra) Pratt; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Harold (Lois) Starks, Kenneth (Pat) Starks, Richard (Debbie) Starks and William Stein; sisters-in-law, Hildred Buck and Ida Pratt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Babe; brother, Bernard, and wife, Nellie; brother, Merle; sister, Betty Ritze, and husband, Charles; brother-in-law, Norman Buck; and sisters-in-law, Joan Starks and Marilyn Stein.
