Kenneth L. Albrecht, lifetime resident and businessman in this area died suddenly at his home.

Kenneth L. Albrecht was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Iowa City, the son of Clyde and Alice (Piening) Albrecht. He married Dorothy I. Wickizer on Aug. 19, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Ken began his working career as a homebuilder, soon he branched out into business ownership of a ready mix plant, S&G Materials, Metro Pavers, and into real estate locally, nationally and internationally.
He and Dorothy enjoyed splitting their time between homes here and in Key Colony, Fla. In Florida, Ken could often be found on their boat deep sea fishing. Ken was not one to sit back and watch the world go by, he was an avid reader, computer investor in the financial markets and an avid Iowa Hawkeyes supporter.
His family includes his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Chris Albrecht; grandchildren, Kate Conroy (David), Max Albrecht (Rachel), Adam Desterhaft and Ashley Daugherty; and great-grandchildren, Xander, Evelyn, Emma, Owen and Lila.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; son, Alan; and all his siblings.
