Kenneth “Ken” Meisinger, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hillsboro, Kansas at later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family.
Ken was born on Nov. 9, 1941, in Hillsboro, Kan., the son of Clifton and Ophelia (Laubhan) Meisinger. He was a 1959 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Kansas and went on to graduate from Wichita Business College in 1961. Ken moved to Marion, Iowa, in 2000. He worked as an insurance agent for American Family Insurance for 22 years. After retirement, he worked for Hy-Vee for 12 years, and recently worked for Indian Creek Country Club. Ken was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and Indian Creek Country Club. He loved to golf in his later years. In his younger years, he loved to bowl and play softball. Ken was a kind, loving and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ken is survived by his brothers, Marvin (Maggie) Meisinger of Marion, Kan., and Edward (Jan) Meisinger of Hillsboro, Kan.; special friends, Jim and Janet Dettbarn and Barry and Jolene Buchholz, all of Marion, Iowa; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
