Kenneth “Ken” Edward Mobily, 72, of West Branch, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at his home. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Coralville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Leigh officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Foundation: Health and Human Physiology Department.
Ken was born on Sept. 15, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Salvatore and Josephine (Voytus) Mobily. He was united in marriage to Paula Cornett on April 8, 1972, in Bethesda, Md. Ken loved teaching as a professor with the University of Iowa Health and Human Physiology Department for 42 years. He loved running and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, especially with his grandkids. He was a dedicated family man and loved telling punny dad jokes.
Ken is survived by his wife, Paula; two children, Michelle Borgwardt (Christian) of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Matthew Mobily (Massiel) of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Reed and Bowen Borgwardt and Lucas Mobily; two sisters, Denise Duke (Robert) of Parma, Ohio, and Diane Mullins of Colfax, Iowa; and many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
