Kenneth John Happel, 90, of Marion, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022, in Winslow House Care Center. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Gary (Jo) Happel, Rick (Deb) Happel, Rod (Cindy) Happel, Stacy (Mark) Nolan, Kendall (Conni) Happel, Tom (Laurie) Happel and Brenda (Bob) DeCamp; a brother, Jim Happel; also surviving are 14 grandchildren; and 15.75 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Donna Happel.
Ken was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Albert and Ruth (Rickels) Happel. He married Donna Zimmerman on July 22, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ken was a supervisor for Rockwell Collins. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and played slow pitch softball many years.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Winslow House Care Center for all the loving care and compassion they gave to Ken.
