North Liberty
Kenneth J. "Jim" Moore, 76, of North Liberty, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the Mercy Hospice Unit. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville, with Kenneth Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. Following the graveside service will be a luncheon at The Lodge in North Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Jim was born Aug. 18, 1938, in Iowa City, the son of Kenneth W. and Evelyn C. (Monroe) Moore. He was united in marriage to Judith A. Moore on July 16, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2007.
Jim was employed by Curry Masonry and was a member of the Brick Layers Union for his entire career. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and any outdoor activity. Jim and Judith enjoyed traveling to Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
Jim is survived by one son, Kenneth of Show Low, Ariz.; one daughter, Sarah Moore of Riverside; one sister, Linda (Robert) Mitchell of Canyon City, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; and daughter, Dawn Ham.
