Kenneth William Hines, 91, of Palo, Iowa, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will start at 3 p.m. following the visitation, with burial following in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kenneth was born April 18, 1930, to Byron and Selma (Johnson) Hines in Dubuque, Iowa. He enlisted into the United States Navy. After he returned home, he married the love of his life Rita Mathis on Feb. 5, 1958. He worked over 20 years as a machine operator at Swiss Valley. In his free time, Kenneth enjoyed playing pool and going to garage sales, where he appreciated a good sale. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Hines; grandson, Kenny (Krystle) Dombrowski; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Allysia, Lodis, Klover, Kenny Jr. and Jaspar; and siblings, Rose Bridgewater, Bernita Hines-Weig and Evelyn Hines.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents and his daughter, Dianne Hines.
