Kenneth Dean Grout, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, at 10 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. at Kenwood Park Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kenneth was born on July 8, 1936, in Tingley, Iowa, the son of Ray and Grace Grout. After Kenneth graduated high school, he then attended the University of Missouri, where he played basketball and achieved his associate degree. Throughout Kenneth’s life, he enlisted in the Army Reserves, worked at a colonial bakery for 35 years, as well as worked for the school system as a maintenance worker.

In his free time, Kenneth enjoyed working in his “shop,” working on his home and property, and attending church at Kenwood Park United Methodist. Kenneth always made time to spend with his family.

Kenneth is survived by his three brothers, Dale Grout, Ronald Grout and Bob Grout; sister, Ruth Grout; children, Timothy Grout and Tiffany Grout; and grandchildren, Keegan Grout, Brenden Grout and Brooklynn Grout.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna Grout; parents, Ray and Grace Grout; brothers, Harold Grout, Charles Grout, Marvin Grout and Donald Grout; and a sister, Doris Grout.
