Kenneth Coble, 84, of Keswick, died Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Parkview Manor in Wellman. Funeral services were held at 10:30 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation was held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Burial will be in the Van Orsdall Cemetery near Ollie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Kenneth Ronald Coble was born in Hayesville, Iowa on February 9, 1940, the son of Kenneth William and Marion Ruth Jacobs Coble. Ron attended school through the ninth grade. He began his working career at age fifteen to help his mother and sibling. In 1959, Ron enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Korea until his honorable discharge in 1962. Then on February 16, 1967 he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Ploog, at the little brown church in Nashua, Iowa. Ron worked several years at Kingsberry Homes in Sigourney and as a night cop in Keswick. In 1981 he accepted a custodial position at the University of Iowa Hospital where he worked for over twenty years.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting tractors. Above all he always looked forward to family gatherings and visiting with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daryl Coble; a sister, Nancy Holum; and two brothers, Clifford (Zeola) Coble and Eugene Coble.
Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Coble; his daughter, Carolyn (Jeff) Cuvar; his son; Kenneth Coble; and a brother-in-law, Ed Ploog.
