Kenneth C. "Bud" Smith, 84, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Montezuma Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with the Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his children, LuAnn Lacy of Kansas, David Smith (and the late Diane Smith) of New Sharon, Kenneth E. Smith of Montezuma, Roger Smith (Linda) of Mount Vernon and Mark Smith of Iowa City; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Morris of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Randy Lacy of Kansas, Brett Lacy of Kansas, Rod Lacy (Kathy) of Kansas, Amy VanManen (Lonnie) of Sully, Chad Lacy (Beth) of Kansas, Paul Smith (Trina) of Georgia, Justin Smith (Carrie Thompson) of Montezuma and Brooke Noland (Chuck) of Louisiana; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Alice Parvin Smith; his son, Kevin Smith; five sisters, Donna, Glenda, Helen, Betty and Dorothy; and four brothers, Tillman, Doug, Irvin and Dennis.
