Kennedy, Ursuleen Elizabeth Squires
Ursuleen Elizabeth Squires Kennedy, 95, of Strawberry Point, passed at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters, Charlotte Depoy and Janann Bachtell; a son, Wayne (Berneice) Squires; a stepdaughter, Paula (Mark) Allison; a stepson, Michael (Bernice) Kennedy; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grand children and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Clyde Squires and Millard Kennedy; a son, Morris Squires; a stepdaughter, Paige Holloway; a sister, Maxine Aeschliman; and a brother, Eugene Scovel.
Ursuleen Elizabeth Squires Kennedy was born Oct. 24, 1915, the daughter of Nathaniel and Julia (Kenneally) Scovel. She was united in marriage to Clyde Squires in 1932. He passed away in 1952. Ursuleen and Millard Kennedy were married on Jan. 1, 1968, in East Dubuque, Iowa.
She very much enjoyed cross stitching, reading and card playing.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to Hospice of Mercy or a charity of your choice.
