KEN A. DAVIDSON Fairfax Ken A. Davidson, 60, of Fairfax, died Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Dustin Vu of St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, Cedar Rapids. Ken is survived by his wife, Shirley Magner-Davidson; his daughter, Amanda of Pella; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by an aunt and uncle, Lottie and Roman Volesky of Shueyville; an aunt, Alice Stick of Surprise, Ariz.; several cousins; and special family friend, Rose Marie "Cookie" Vanous of Springville; as well as brothers-in-law, Dr. Clement Magner and Thomas Manger; and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Magner (Steve Carpenter), Peggy Magner and Cheryl Magner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Emma (Zaspal) Davidson. Ken was born on Feb. 3, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Rapids area. He was a 1974 graduate of Jefferson High School and graduated from the automotive technology program at Kirkwood Community College. Ken worked with his father, Harold, at Davidson's Auto Shop for many years and since his father's death in 2004, he had owned and operated the business. Ken married Shirley A. Magner on June 11, 2010, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. He and his wife were members of St. John XXII Catholic Church. Ken was a member of Lodge Hawkeye 423 W.F.L.A. Ken enjoyed gardening, doing yard work around his home and watching NASCAR racing on television. He liked to ride his motorcycle and tinker with mechanical "challenges" at the auto shop.
