Kelsey, Jacqueline J.
Jacqueline J. Kelsey, 74, of Cedar Rapids, joined the love of her life in heaven on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein. Per her wishes there will be no public service. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, James (Sorine) Kelsey of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Jackie Ann (Greg) McQuiston of Hiawatha, Janet (Dennis) Vogel of Shellsburg, Jeri Neville of Cedar Rapids, Diane (Ted) Miller of Shellsburg and Debra Lee of Cedar Rapids; foster children, Cahn, Khai and Truong Bui; siblings, Beverly of Minnesota, Karen of Iowa, Mona of Oklahoma, Beba of Minnesota, Carol Mae of Iowa and Vicki Lee of California; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Preston, Minn., the daughter of Lester and Gertrude (Schwartz) Lyon. On July 5, 1956, she married James E. Kelsey in Mason City, Iowa. Jackie was a bus driver for 16 years with the Cedar Rapids Community School District and was a foster parent for 19 years.
She enjoyed drinking her Coke, playing with her cats and watching basketball, especially the Chicago Bulls and Iowa Hawkeyes.
Jackie loved spending time with her family and going on camping and fishing trips with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four siblings, Jim, Jerry, Charlene and Leila.
