Keller, Mabel I.
Mabel I. Keller, 81, of 5772 Langdon Ave. SW, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, in her home, with her family around her. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Kasch. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene Lawrence and Karen Keller, both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Karl (Elizabeth) Keller of West Virginia; two sisters, Ellen Dolley and Hazel Campbell, both of Marion; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Keller; son-in-law, John Lawrence; her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Mabel was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Calmar, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon and Emma (Bolson) Whitmore. She married Charles R. Keller on July 7, 1951, in Wild Rose, Wis. In her earlier years Mabel was a waitress.
She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, where she was active with ELCA Circle, Shriner's Women Without Partners Club, Awards chairman for Tops Club 259, Cedar Rapids, and a 50-year member of Women of The Moose. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
