Keller, Jean
Jean Keller passed away at her home in Iowa City on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the age of 85. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd; sister, Evelyn Hinkel; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Dale Foust; son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Paula Keller; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was born Alice Jean Rayner on Aug. 28, 1927, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. In 1941, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and continued to serve her Creator faithfully for over 70 years. On Aug. 10, 1947, she married Lloyd Henry Keller in Nashua, Iowa. They lived much of their life in and around Cedar Rapids.
Jean loved her study of the Bible and sharing the truths she learned with others. She found great comfort in the Bible's promise of a paradise Earth where “God will wipe out tears, death and pain” forever (Revelation 21:1-4).
A memorial service will be held at Walden Place, 2423 Walden Road, Iowa City, Iowa, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 7 p.m. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the Web at . Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Jean's family.
