Keithley, Ruby Pearl
Ruby Pearl Keithley, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Willow Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center in Marion. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until services Thursday at the chapel.
Ruby was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Saybrook, Ill., the daughter of Johnnie and Pearl (Morton) Abel. Ruby had made homes for her family in Center Point, Cedar Rapids and Canton, Mo. She spent most of her life in Service of the Lord. She married Charles Keithley Dec. 25, 1973.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Lee (Jim) Meyer, Jim (Jane) West, Dave West and Marla (Keith) Stanley; 51 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Sue Carnahan; a son in-law, Gary Otterbeck; a daughter in-law, Shawn West; as well as numerous foster children.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard (Lillian) Abel; her husband, John West; sons, Jack West and Bob West; a daughter, Kay Otterbeck; and a great-grandson, Andrew Heit.
