Keith "Dick" Sturdy, 81, of Tipton, died peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. The Pastor Donnita Moeller will officiate. Online condolences may be shared at www.

Keith was born on Jan. 8, 1933, in Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, and was the son of Jack and Roxie Ellen Wilson Sturdy. Keith grew up and attended Tipton Consolidated School and then joined the U.S. Navy where he served in Hawaii, Japan and Korea. He was an electrician in the Tipton area for 53 years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW. His favorite pastimes were fishing, golfing (being inducted in the Eastern Iowa Association Hall of Fame) and following his son's 28-year football career, plus enjoying all of his grand- and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by many friends and family.
Keith is survived by his wife, Sandra of Tipton; three daughters, Lynda (Larry) Ballenger of Bennett, Iowa, Lisa Hugus of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Lori Sturdy (Jim Stiff) of Tipton; son, Todd (Gina) Sturdy of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Adri (Ed) Mesick, Jaci (Scott) Harden, Lacy (Doug) Schmitz, Jessica Hugus, Kalli Hugus, Jenny Woods, Brad Stiff, Keegan, Carson and Kensington Sturdy; and great-grandchildren, Karly, Quinten, Kaleb and Hugh. Keith is also survived by his beloved companion, Pedro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Roxie Ellen Sturdy; his sister, Alberta Werling; and brothers, William Frank Sturdy and Jack Sturdy.
