Keith Lewis Stevens, 88, of Hills, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hills. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery with military honors by local American Legion's.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hills Fire Department or Iowa City Hospice.
Keith was born on March 23, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Lewis and Adelaide (Nelson) Stevens. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. Keith was a farmer for 40 years and then a truck driver for Stutsman's for 23 before retiring in 2013. He was united in marriage to Marlene Hall on July 16, 1952, they would be celebrating their 69th anniversary this year. Keith was a member of St. Joseph Church, Town and Country Club, Liberty Township School Board, Hills City Council, Lone Tree American Legion and was president of the Ocean Waves Square Dance Club.
Keith is survived by his wife, Marlene; five children, Lynne Briggs (Tom) of Iowa City, Deb Metz (Duane) of Riverside, Lauri Simon (Leon) of Riverside, Larry Stevens (Michelle) of Solon and Rick Stevens (Kathy) of Riverside; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Jones.
