Keith Jungjohann, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Keith was born April 6, 1953, to Ralph and Irene (Hamer) Jungjohann, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Koon on Oct. 12, 1992, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Keith loved being in the outdoors, spending his time at the cabin in Wisconsin trout fishing, riding horses and motorcycles, flying down the zip line and building the "best" bonfires. He was known by many as the "animal whisperer," befriending animals from pigeons to horses, even humans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; children, James (Larinda) Jungjohann, Jennifer (Tray) Campbell, Naia Tilghman and Whitney Jungjohann; grandchildren, Jensyn, Jaelyn, Jade, Mia and Roman; his brother, Steve Jungjohann; and five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary; and his sister, Linda.
Memorials may be made to the family for donation to be determined at a later date.
