Keith "Moose" Akers, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Living Center East, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include two sisters, Cecelia (Victor)
Perez of Cedar Rapids and Linda Anderson of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Mike Akers of Midway and John (Pat) Akers of Cedar Rapids; good friend, Melvin Kesselring of Cedar Rapids; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; and sister, Roberta Dooley.
Keith was born Aug. 31, 1938, the son of Alfred and Jeannette (Holub) Akers, in Prairie-burg, Iowa. He worked for Laborers Local 43 in the construction business. Keith enjoyed karate, camping, playing bingo, country westerns and loved his home.
