Keister, Byron 'Bob'
Byron “Bob”Keister, 76, a resident of Silver Pines Retirement Community, Cedar Rapids, died there Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John Louk. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa; children, Linda Keister and Angie (Corey Gienapp) Keister; grandchildren, Nick Brammer and Abbie Gienapp; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Keister, Edna Pesek, Margaret McCune and Helen (Dean) Gibbs.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald Keister.
Born Feb. 8, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Byron was the son of Byron and Margaret (Brown) Keister. On Oct. 20, 1956, he was united in marriage to Teresa McCune. He served in the U.S. Army. Byron retired from Justice Electric and was a member of the IBEW No. 405.
Byron also was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
Memorials may be made in Byron's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
