Keenan, Robert 'Bob' Arthur
Robert “Bob” Arthur Keenan, 58, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Ryan, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at his home. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, where a vigil service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Private family inurnment at Dunkard Cemetery in Toddville will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sue; two daughters, Ashley and Cassie Keenan; and two sisters, Eloise Keenan and Barbara Keenan, both of Madison, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Keenan; and one brother, Larry Keenan.
Bob was born Oct. 3, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, son of Arthur and Irene (McElligott) Keenan. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1971 and attended the University of Iowa. Bob married Susan J. Keil on Feb. 28, 1987, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He worked for UPS for 37 years and was looking forward to retiring next April. Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bob's memory.
