Keenan, Myrtle D.
Myrtle D. Keenan, 91, of 5327 Kacena Ave., Marion, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Roger Reid and the Rev. Al Brydon. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, Iowa.
Survivors include children, Peggy Henderson of Marion and Douglas (Linda) Keenan of Western, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her twin brother, Mac Ritter of Apple Valley, Calif.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; daughter, Marilyn Kolek; and 12 sisters and brothers.
Born May 15, 1919, in Scranton, Iowa, Myrtle was the daughter of Henry and Mary Jane (Bartley) Ritter. In 1940, she was united in marriage to Richard Keenan in Kahoka, Mo. He died March 17, 1961.
Myrtle was a member of First Christian Church. She loved and lived for her family.
