Kaye Haslam, known to friends and family as Kacy, passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A Cedar Rapids native, she graduated from Washington High School and enjoyed a whirlwind life of misadventure. Having lived in Iowa and Nebraska, she was a fiercely independent woman who knew what she liked. She was spirited, refusing to leave things unsaid or questions unasked. She held a fondness for the little traditions; every child—grand, great-grand or otherwise—receiving a pack of Life Savers candy for Christmas.
More than anything, she loved music. Especially the kind created by her own personal star, her late husband, Michael. It was the album that he dedicated to her that was being played in the room as she passed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Vera Snodgrass; and husband, Michael. She is survived by both of her sons, Jon (Jessica) and Jim (Pamela); grandchildren, Allison, Samantha, Parker, and Vera; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Mackston, Elias, Coleson, and Leo; and beloved dog, Riley.
She did not wish for a service. For those who wish to honor Kacy, make a toast in her name, get in a little trouble, and never say “Good Bye” – instead say “To be continued . . .”
Please share your support and memories with Kacy’s family on her Tribute Wall at www.stewartbaxter.com under Obituaries.
