Kay L. Thomsen (Bascom) 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Kay Lois Thomsen was born Dec. 30, 1940, to Ervin and Leona Petersen Thomsen in Reinbeck, Iowa. She worked at Square D for 38 years as a punch press operator.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be forever missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Kimberly) of Marble, Colo., Teri Strait of Springville, Rick Bascom, Vicki (Gary) Bloxham, Cindy Bascom and Rebecca (Mark) Palmer, all of Cedar Rapids, Wayne (Chris) Veverka of Grinnell and Larry (Alicia) Bascom of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Leon (Meri) Thomsen of Waverly and Gerry (Barb) Thomsen of Ryan; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and lifelong friends, Pat Auman and Richard Bascom.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Please join us for a snack type potluck following the service at Kirkwood Estates Rec Hall.
