Kavanaugh, 60, died July 21, 2009, in Portland, Maine, where services were held last week. She will be buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, Cosgrove, on Sunday, Aug. 9, with a family graveside service, followed by a reception at the Cosgrove Church Hall.
Her children, brothers and sisters invite friends and family to the church hall between 1:30 and 3:30 to celebrate Sheila's life and share fond memories.
She is survived by her children, Ryan Kavanaugh, his wife Amy and their son Henry, and Laragh Kavanaugh, all of Portland, Maine; and her brothers and sisters, Mike Burns of North Liberty, Steve Burns of Iowa City, Linda Langenberg (Kirt Curtis) of Marion, Tony Burns of Cedar Rapids, Margery Burns of Iowa City and Maureen Laxpati (Sharad) of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ada Burns; and a niece.
