Kaufman, Nancy Happel
Nancy Happel Kaufman, 78, of Robins, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, John “Jack;” daughters, Tammy Lien of Chandler, Ariz. and Jo Lutz of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Jill Ferguson of Shellsburg and Dana Wiegert of Proell; stepson, Mike (Tara) Kaufman of Marshalltown; a brother, Bill Happel of Iowa City; and a sister, Judy (Russ) Leidigh of Goodyear, Ariz.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, Justin Lien and Kasi (fiance, Seth Carey) Lien; seven stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was born Feb. 18, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Raymond and Naoma Biskup Happel. She married John Kaufman on June 23, 1984, in Cedar Rapids.
Nancy was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, travel with Jack on their motorcycle and especially the time spent with her dog, Lexi, her friends and beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha in Nancy's name.
