Olathe, Kan.
Kathy (Staub) Fry, 72, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday. Aug. 19, 2023. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Kathy is survived by her husband Richard Fry; her daughter Susan (Sean) Reed; three grandchildren, Liam, Connor and McKenzie, her brothers, John (Barb), Rob (Kim) and Joe; her sisters, Dorothy and Patty (Doran); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and sister-in-law Patti.
She was preceded in death by her son Richard Norman; parents Norman and Betty Staub; in-laws Gerald and Opal Fry; and brother Mike Staub; and sister-in-law Patti.
Kathy managed Lancer Lanes in Cedar Rapids before she purchased Castle Lanes in Marion. Kathy was one of the best bowlers in the state in the ’70s and ’80s before moving to Kansas City. Kathy was inducted in the Cedar Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame in 1990. She also was secretary of the girls softball association in Olathe, Kan., for 14 years.
