Kathy Lea McNamara, 57, of rural Swisher, died at her home Saturday morning, April 12, 2014. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids.
Kathy is survived by her six children, Shawn McNamara, Cedar Rapids, Kasey McNamara, Swisher, Kazzy McNamara, Cedar Rapids, Sidney McNamara and Stasney McNamara, both of Swisher and Sawyer McNamara, Cedar Rapids; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandson; her mother, Maxine Coufal, Swisher; sister, Pam Lukehart and husband LeRoy; brother, Dan Coufal, both of Warsaw, Mo.; and former husband, Steve McNamara,
Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Coufal.
Kathy was born Sept. 16, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Frank and Maxine (Renfro) Coufal and was a lifelong Swisher area resident. She sold advertising, but her greatest and most rewarding work was being a fulltime mother which she loved above all else. Kathy enjoyed playing pool, flower gardening and collecting all sorts of items.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
