Kathy A. Lalley, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, from 4 to p.m. at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Kathy Ann was born Aug. 7, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John Ernest and Betty Schnee. Kathy married Joe Lalley on May 6, 1972, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Throughout her life she never had a driver’s license but drove her moped all over town and was an excellent boat captain. Christmas was her holiday and she was known for spoiling her children and grandchildren with gifts. She enjoyed crafting and sewing, especially holiday-themed projects. Kathy’s grandchildren were her life and she valued every second with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathy is survived by husband Joe; her children Angie (Aaron) Barnard, Matt (Danielle) Lalley and Brian (Katie) Lalley; grandchildren Dillon, Allison, Jameson and Maverick; and special dog Dodger.
