Supple, 94, of Cascade, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at 6:47 p.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Friends and relatives of
Katie may call from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade. Services for Katie will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery,
Cascade.
Katie was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Cascade, Iowa, daughter of Leo F. and
Florence (McQuillen) Skahill. She was a graduate of the former St. Martin's High School in Cascade. On Jan. 3, 1938, she was united in marriage to John J. Supple at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2004. The couple farmed in the rural Cascade area.
She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade and Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Our Blessed Mother Court No. 1926.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne (Ernie) Driscoll of Cascade; two sons, Steve (Jan) Supple and Roger Supple, both of Cascade; nine grandchildren, Mark Driscoll, Molly (Otto) Krueger, Jenn (Ben) Bartels, B.J. (Carey) Supple, Jeb (Jill) Supple, Jake (Angie) Supple, Erin (Mike) Wolters, Sam (Angie) Supple and Peter Supple; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert L. (Anita) Skahill of Dubuque.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sgt. Bernard L. Skahill, who was killed in action on April 8, 1945, near the end of World War II in Belgium, Germany, and Raymond Skahill; two sisters, Madelyn Kasper and Irene Neyens; five brothers-in-law, Wilfred Neyens, Frank Kasper, Whitey Manternach, Joe Rogers and Raymond Supple; and three sisters-in-law, Coletta Manternach, Florence Rogers and Marguerite Supple.
