KATHRYN VAN NOTE MAYBERRY

Kathryn Louise (Van Note) Mayberry of Lebanon, Ill., died unexpectedly Feb. 5, 2014.
She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Jan. 29, 1950, to Kenneth and Marie Van Note. She graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids in 1968. Kathy received her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University, Ames, in 1975, and established her veterinary practice in Lebanon, Ill., shortly after graduation. Kathy had worked for many years as a veterinarian for Fairmount Park Racetrack.
She will be remembered for her passion for animals. It was said of Kathy that she would not hesitate to come to the aid of an animal in need anytime of the day or night.
She also was a member of the Lebanon Park board.
Kathryn was married briefly to Robert J. Mayberry Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy is survived by a sister, Jeanette Bean of Snellville, Ga.; a brother, Keith Van Note (Amy) of Minneapolis; two nephews, Jim Shaw and Kent Van Note; and two nieces, Debra Shaw and Catherine Meredyk.
Services were 10 a.m. June 6 at Renner Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill.
The family asks any memorials be given to the Horner Park Tree Fund, 11113 Widicus Rd., Lebanon, IL 62254.
