Kathryn Gienapp Keck, 95, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Manchester, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Delaware, Iowa, with Pastor David Weber officitaing. A lunch will follow at the church where visitors can greet the family. Private burial at Pine View Cemetery, Delaware, Iowa, before the service.
Survivors include her children, Robert W. Keck and William J. Keck; brother, Elvin (Bud) Gienapp of Manchester; a sister-in-law, Marylou (Keck) Beswick of Manchester. grandchildren, Robert A. Keck (Beth) and Dr. Julie Keck (Dr. John Champley); and great-grandchildren, Robert J. Keck II, Kathryn E. Keck, Nathan J. Champley and Bethany J. Champley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Kathryn (Maurer) Gienapp; husband, Robert J. Keck; and brother, Leslie W. Gienapp.
She was born July 16, 1919, to William F. and Kathryn Maurer Gienapp of rural Manchester, Iowa. She was a graduate of Manchester High School. Before marriage, Kathryn was a secretary to a medical practice in Manchester. In 1940, Kathryn married Robert J. Keck of rural Colesburg, Iowa. They were happily married for 72 years.
Kathryn loved poetry. She enjoyed spring yard work and loved gardening, especially perennial flowers. Kathryn really enjoyed the independence of farm life and being a constant companion and helpmate to husband Bob. The Kecks enjoyed dancing, card playing and annual rides with friends to view the fall foliage in Northeast Iowa. Kathryn was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Delaware. She and Bob especially enjoyed their years as counselors for the youth group at St. Paul's.
