Kathryn Alice Harris, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, in Heritage Nursing & Rehab, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Private family burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Larry) McVay; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Don (Arlene) Lane and Bill (Dorothy) Lane; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was born April 12, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Kelsh) Lane. On June 20, 1942, she married James E. Harris. Kathryn was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, had first communion, graduated and was married.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Harris; daughter, Sharon Jochim; and son, James S. Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Care Initiatives Hospice, 3720 Queen Court SW #9, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
