Kathleen "Katie" Harms, 92, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Pinicon Place following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church with interment in Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Goettsch Funeral Home has been entrusted with Katie's services.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eddie, in 1996; and four siblings and spouses, Mary Margaret (Leon) White, Marcella (George) White, LaVerne (Mary Lee) Leibold and Veronica (Bud) Weber; brothers-in-law, Henry, Albert, John, Herman and Carl Harms; and sister-in-law, Molly Osterkamp.
Kathleen Ruth Leibold was born Sept. 17, 1925, on a farm near Hopkinton. She was the daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth Pins Leibold. She attended the rural schools near her home. Kathleen Leibold and Eddie W. Harms were married on Aug. 28, 1947, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church rural Monticello. The couple made their home in Anamosa, where Katie worked at the Iowan Hotel. She later was employed at Emerson Electric in Anamosa before she retired. In retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling. Katie always loved to listen to Eddie play the accordion or the organ. She enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends.
