Kathleen Carter, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Graveside service: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Gary; children, Rhonda Miller, Barbara (Pam) Polgiaze, George (Cathrine) Carter, Andrea Carter, Robyn Delaney and Nick (Mechelle) Carter; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, William (Marilyn) Diesch and Sharon Paulson; and pets, Tank and Sweetie Pie.
Kathleen Deliah Hanson was born Nov. 19, 1941, in Cedar Rapids to George and Ellen (Craco) Hanson. She married Gary Carter on April 15, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. Kathleen enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo at St. Ludmila's, antique shopping, crocheting and watching British mystery shows. She especially appreciated spending time with her beloved family and cat, Tank.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darwin Kane; and in-laws, Derald Carter, Martha Carter, John Craig and Jim Paulson.
Kathleen's family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Mercy and Dr. Stahlberg for their generous care of Kathleen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
