Kasper, Paul
Paul Kasper, 86, of Lone Tree, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center. Funeral services for Paul will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Parish life administrator Carol Kaalberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the committal, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lone Tree. Visitation for Paul will be held one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Paul's name.

Paul Anthony Kasper was born May 20, 1925, in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Edward and Zitta (Kron) Kasper. In 1946, Paul was united in marriage to Alice Wiese in Johnson County. They later divorced. He later married Velma Schreiber. Paul was a farmer and had his own backhoe business from 1965 to 2005. He also owned and operated a trucking company, hauling grain and limestone. He enjoyed raccoon hunting in the fall, mushroom hunting in the spring, playing competitive card games and working with Paint horses. Paul especially loved Sundays with family get-togethers at his parents' farm.
Paul will be deeply missed by his son, Arden Kasper and his wife, Becky of Lone Tree; grandchildren, Mike Kasper and wife Julie of Fairfax, Rob Kasper and wife Monteen of Cedar Rapids, Dan Kasper and wife Chancey of Fort Smith, Ark., and Anne Kasper of Loveland, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Allie, Lucas, Aiden, Alexandra, Tony, Lily and Damen; his sisters, Margaret Hora of West Branch and Norma Swailes of Riverside; and special friend, Merian Zimmerman of Columbus Junction.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; brothers, Cletus and Louis; and sister, Rose Burns.
