Kasper, Montyne Renee
Montyne Renee Kasper, 45, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, May 29, 2013, of breast cancer. She spent the final week in the comfort and care of the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
Cancer took Montyne, but neither it nor any other obstacle she faced ever stood a chance against her gentle strength and abundant kindness. She exuded love and compassion for her family and friends; she brought joy to everyone who knew her.
As a mother, her nurture and unbridled love was rewarded by two very special sons, Julian Ampey (16) and Aidan Kasper (7). Her husband, Rob, has been her soulmate and true love for 12 years, and her presence and spirit lives on in him.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Collins and her mother and best friend, Julia Werner.
She is survived by a legion of friends and a large and loving extended family whose matriarch is Polly Alnutt.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
A memorial service celebrating Montyne's life will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Keith Pitts officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
