Karr, Catherine A.
Catherine A. Karr, 72, of Hiawatha, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her home.
Catherine was born on April 11, 1940, in Marion, Iowa, to Elmer D. and Adella (Freed) Frazier. Catherine married the love of her life, David E. Karr (53 years), she was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Catherine had many talents and hobbies. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, sewing, reading and spending time at the lake with the family. She also had a love for her many dogs over the years.
Catherine is survived by her husband, David; children, Tammy K. Swanson (John (Ed)) of Center Point, Rodney D. Karr (Kara) of Cedar Rapids and Angie L. Karr of Hiawatha; foster children, Curt Cleveland (Kristyn) of Cedar Rapids and Nancy Boddicker of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; six 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Helen Wilson (Homer) Mariposa, Calif., David Frazier (Doris) of Alburnett, Mardelle Reincke (Clete) of Langcaster, Ohio, Jim Frazier (Sonya) of Cedar Rapids and Naomi Mitchell of Alburnett.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Grant Frazier.
As Catherine requested there will be no services scheduled. Catherine's wish was to have a no tears celebration of life; therefore the family will receive friends at her home on Thursday, Dec. 6. Stop by any time between the hours of 3 and 7 p.m. at 193 Tiki Terrace, Hiawatha.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be directed to the family in loving memory of Catherine.
