Karon worked at JC Penny in Cedar Rapids for 45 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed working with each customer to find the perfect item(s) for their personal needs and styles. Karon had many interests and hobbies including music, dance, doll-making, stained glass projects, antique shopping, planting flowers and decorating her home and yard for each holiday/season. Most of all, Karon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons who were her pride and joy.
Our wife, mother and grandmother, Karon was a kind, compassionate, sincere, and soft-spoken soul who devoted her life to taking care of others and putting the needs of others well above her own. She was our world and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her husband, LaVerne Daugherty; children, Tony (Roxanne) Daugherty, and Kristine (Curt) Wheeler; grandchildren, Noah, and Riley Wheeler; brothers, Jim and Jerry Fox; and brother- and sister-in-law, Donald Daugherty and Donelle Daugherty and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
