Karole Lynn Jonas, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, October 21, 2024. A visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. on October 31, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on November 1, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Karole under “photos and videos or media,” starting at 1:30 p.m. on November 1, 2024
Karole was born on February 24, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, to Earl T. and Viola (Kamp) Boxrude. A graduate of Washington High School, she went on to earn her associate degree from Hamilton Business College. On August 26, 2006, Karole married Ronald “Ron” Alan Jonas in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the accounting department at Rockwell Collins for 35 years. Karole had a magnetic personality, effortlessly made friends with everyone she met and served as a beacon of light to all those around her.
Survivors include her husband, Ron Jonas of Cedar Rapids; children, Ben Robertson and Serena Robertson (Justin Ward), all of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Bailey, Elijah and Aaliyah Ward; and her beloved dog, Gabby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl T. And Viola Boxrude.
The family would like to thank everyone at St. Luke’s/UnityPoint Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Karole.
