Karl Foxpool, formerly known as Charles C. Swiger, of Palo and Port St. Lucie, Fla., passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at his home.
A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Karl was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Lumberport, W.Va., the
son of Daisy Ayers. Karl served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955. He married Cassondra Dahlhauser on March 30, 1989, in Port St. Lucie. Karl worked as a tradesman at Harniscfeger, Welty Way, Penick & Ford, and also as a prison guard in West Virginia, before he retired in 2009. In his younger years, Karl was an avid hunter. After he relocated to Florida, Karl loved to participate in all water sports and enjoyed his success as a real estate investor. Karl also enjoyed traveling.
His family includes his wife, Cassondra; son, Rick (Sandra) Swiger and two grandchildren; son, Terry Joe (Laura) Swiger and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; deceased son, Danny Swiger and one grandchild; daughter, Carla Davis and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and son, Kelly Swiger and Monica. Also, stepdaughter, Cathy (Derrick) Weuve and three grandchildren; Ashley (Billy) Shipp and one great-grandchild; Brittni (Bud) Trosclair and two great-grandchildren; and Ryan Weuve; stepson, Timothy S. (Valerie) Conrad and five grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Presley, Gerald (deceased), Colton, and one great-grandchild, Jase.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Disabled Veterans Organization.
