KARI RAHE (KLOSTERMANN) PEDDICORD
Springfield, Mo.
Kari Rahe (Klostermann) Peddicord, 37, of Springfield, Mo., passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2018, surrounded by family and friends after a heroic battle with breast cancer. She was born Oct. 14, 1981, to Frank and Diane Klostermann in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and grew up in Atkins with her parents and brothers, Kyle and Korey.
Kari attended and graduated from Lake Forest College in 2004. While in college, she met and fell in love with Michael Peddicord. They were married on Oct. 4, 2008. They have two beautiful girls, Maeve (7) and Elise (4), whom she loves with all her heart. Kari and Michael lived in Chicago at the beginning of their marriage and loved the city life, the Cubs and the crazy memories they made there. Kari worked for Burns Sports & Entertainment and then later climbed up the ladder to become director of sales at AVT Event Technologies at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. After leaving Chicago, they moved to Richmond, Ky., where Kari was able to stay at home and raise her girls. They later moved to Springfield, Mo., where Kari found the house of her dreams, the best school for their daughters and a giant community of friends in Springfield.
Kari had a zest for life and one-liners, impeccable comedic timing and a heart that could not be matched. She was loved by everyone who knew her and devoted her life to being a part of her community, taking care of her girls and sitting on her front porch swing with Michael. Kari never lost faith and continued fighting until her last breath.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughters, Maeve and Elise; parents, Frank and Diane Klostermann; in-laws, Charles and Cathy Peddicord; brothers, Kyle Klostermann and Korey (Megan) Klostermann; sister-in-law, Cristine (Mike) Bunting; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Erin) Peddicord and Patrick (Erika) Peddicord; nieces and nephews, Emmy, Caiden, Connor, Caroline, Nicholas, Jacob, Siena and Lucas; and countless other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 405 Fourth Ave., Van Horne, Iowa.
