Karen Sue Hauskins, 68, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Marion Free Methodist Church located at, 2690 25th Ave., Marion, with visitation an hour prior to service.
Karen was born on June 3, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Delmar and Shirley (Hughes) Bear Sr. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. On Aug. 10, 1984, Karen was united in marriage to Kevin Hauskins at Marion Free Methodist Church. She worked at True Value for 27 years until her retirement in December of 2022. Karen was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed collecting and crafting. Karen was a devoted member of her church and truly cared for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Karen is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Kevin; children, Don (Charlotte) Hauskins of Marion, Jeremy Hauskins (Marissa Kolander) of Cedar Rapids, Carrie (Bill) Brown of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Jennifer (Tony) Kelso of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Hana, Jackson, Beckett, Elliott, Aaron, Ashlynn, Olivia and Brenton; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Teresa Bear of Cedar Rapids; aunt, Barb Hughes of Cedar Rapids; and nephew, Randy Bear of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Delmar “Butch” Bear Jr.
