Karen Sue Gent, of Williamsburg, formerly of Wellman, was born July 31, 1938, in rural Kinross. Karen died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, surrounded by her family, at the age of 76 years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Marvin of Williamsburg; five children, Rhonda (Jay) Holtkamp of Marion, Linda (John) Fer of Tulsa, Okla., James (Mary) Gent of Wellman, Gregory (Georgia) Gent of Wellman and Alicia (Tom) Robinson of Marion; 14 grand-children; 13 great-grandchildren; her mother, Jessie Blaylock of North English; a sister, Karyl (Bill) Miller of Washington; and three brothers, Gary (Sandy) Blaylock of North English, Mike (Margaret) Blaylock of North English and Pat (Michelle) Blay-lock of Fairfax Station, Va.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. The Rev. David Brownfield, Ph.D., will officiate. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Little Creek Cemetery, rural Kinross. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond, where a rosary and vigil service will be at 2 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Highland Ridge Care Center and the American Diabetes Association.
