Karen Evans, 62, of Pine City, Minn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, loving wife, sister, and aunt, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 30, 2015, of a heart attack in Minnesota. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Teahen
Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. John Howerton. Burial: Palo Cemetery, Palo. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at and again on Friday after 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Melton of Pine City, Minn.; brothers, Kevin (Sue) Booth and Ken (Julie) Booth of Palo; sister, Kristen Riffey, and brother, Keith (Marcia) Booth, both of Shellsburg; nieces, Nicole (Brad Langer) Booth, Andrea Booth and Claire Booth; nephew, Travis Booth; and a great-niece, Amaya Langer.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Juanita Booth.
Karen was born July 29, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ivan James and Juanita Marette Ament Booth. Karen married her one true love, Mel Evans, on Feb. 3, 1990, and they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Karen enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Karen and Mel had a beautiful lake home in Pine City, Minn., where they resided for the past 11 years.
