Karen "Diane" Hart, 72, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at her home following a sudden illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, with interment in the Wilcox Cemetery, Viola. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Surviving are her husband, John; her two children, Marci (Tom Simpson) Anderson-Tucker, Solon, and Chad Anderson, Iowa City; four stepchildren, Randy Hart, Anamosa, Sandy Hart, Marion, Greg (Paula) Hart, Anamosa, and Kevin (Judy McLain) Hart, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Cade, Alexis, Hailey, Connor and Michael; seven stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Hilbert, Orcutt, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Colleen Hilbert, Hartley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eddie; a sister, Betty Selken; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lynne Hilbert.
Karen Diane Hilbert was born Feb. 24, 1945, at Sanborn, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arnold and Velma Comes Hilbert. Diane married Don Anderson on June 19, 1968, at Ottumwa. The couple later divorced. In 1985, she went to work at Berthel Fisher and Co. in Cedar Rapids. She retired as the marketing manager in 2005. Diane and John had been together since 1989 and married in 2004.
The couple took many wonderful trips together, going to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. Since 2009, they had wintered in Mission, Texas. Diane always enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially time with her grandchildren. She adored her "Charlie Pup" dog.
