Karen Ann Brown, 75, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away Oct. 9, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1947, in LaCrosse, Wis., to the late Axel and Hazel Olson.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Pauls (Stanley) Chandler, Ariz.; her daughter-in-law, Sara Moen; and grandson, Caleb Moen, Buena Vista, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Moen; and brother, Larry Olson.
Karen grew up in Spring Grove, Minn., and graduated high school in Decorah, Iowa. Karen enjoyed being home room mother for both Kim and Rick and on the PTA at Lincoln Elementary School in Washington, Iowa. She also enjoyed making arts and crafts, playing euchre, shopping at thrift stores, planting flowers and listening to Elvis. Karen was church secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, Iowa; secretary for the Education Department at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa; real estate agent in Phoenix, Ariz., before a decline in her health that led to her early retirement. She then lived in Knoxville, Tenn., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and two years ago moved to Chandler, Ariz.
Karen’s pride and joy were her children, Kimmy and Ricky, and grandson, Caleb Moen.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring/summer in Spring Grove, Minn.
