Karen A. Randall, 54 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1968, in Independence, the daughter of Paul Lester and MaryAnn (Jones) Harker Sr. She shared this birthdate with her father. She attended school in Independence until 1980 and then, graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids with the Class of 1986. She then attended Hamilton Business College in Cedar Rapids. On April 9, 1988, she and Curtis Price were married in Independence. They later divorced. On May 22, 1993, she and Jamie Randall were married in Independence. They later divorced and then, remarried on June 19, 1998. They later divorced a second time. Mrs. Randall was a collector, cleaner and organizer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, day trips, Mexican food and demolition derbies.
Karen is survived by one son, Kurtis (Jade) Price of Independence; two daughters of the heart, Grace (Alex) Stacey-Derr of Independence and Miranda (Mitch) Hess of Marion, Iowa; and three grandchildren, Victoria Price, Eli Price and Preston Shindelar. She also is survived by seven brothers and sisters, John (Wendy) Harker of Cedar Rapids, Deanna (Bill) Armstead of Independence, Dean (Teresa) Briggs of Independence, Kim Harker of Winthrop, Iowa, Dolly Rasmussen of Quasqueton, Iowa, Debbie (James) Marsh of Independence and Christin Schmitt of Prescott, Iowa; her stepfather, Jim Schmitt of Otterville, Iowa; her stepmother, Donna Harker of Independence; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul Lakota Harker; and one sister, Carol Malinonski.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, with Rich Lynn officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to
